Spanish on the Hill has been using children’s books to teach Spanish for many years. It is a recipe for educational success! They are truly an essential tool for literacy education. We will be using a wide range of literacy resource books in our classroom during our sessions.
A good children’s books can:
- Provide fun ‘real world’ examples of the topic
- Add vocabulary to the second language
- Bring art to the class to make it fun and engaging
The key to success is knowing I need to model, model, model everything that I teach. Children’s books do this. They provide the repeated examples that kids need to see over and over again in order for the learning to stick. I hope to create engaging, effective language arts education in our classroom for the children to learn Spanish in a fun and dynamic way. We will learn through art and hands-on activities. Children will be expose to songs and dramatization opportunities to stay engage and enjoy the classes.
We will learn
- Spanish vocabulary
- Characters
- Book Comprehension
- Sequence
- Retelling
- Simple sentences in Spanish and much more
