Join textile artist Jeni Schoemaker for a relaxed, hands-on workshop exploring seasonal weaving techniques and color palettes perfect for autumn. All skill levels welcome — kids should bring curiosity and a creative mind to explore the art of weaving!
What the kids will learn
- Simple frame and lap weaving techniques on a wooden loom
- Choosing autumnal colors and textures
- Finishing methods for looms with an option to weave a bag or a piece of flat textile
- Tips for continuing weaving at home
Meet the Artist
Jeni is an accomplished artist and art educator with more than 25 years of experience working with learners of all ages in the public and private schools. A graduate from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), Jeni has brought her background in art and education to diverse learning environments, working with children through classroom instruction, private lessons and community-based programming.
