In this combined art history and studio art workshop, you will learn about the origins of complex geometric patterns used to decorate medieval mosques in the Islamic world. Using a pair of compasses and a ruler you will create a repeating interlaced geometric design to better understand this amazing art form. This workshop is great for anyone interested in art, but also for all those scientific-minded folks who think they can’t draw- in this class, you can!
