The Shelf Fungus Experience, 2026 (Coming Soon)

Description

Coming soon to the Sculpture Garden.

Abstracted birch trees depicted in stainless steel are home to the rusting steel bodies of bracket fungi. The fungus is a change agent bringing birth and renewal in the forest. Their symbiosis here provides a temporary home for passers-by – a place for rest and conversation, or perhaps a cup of reishi or chaga tea.
