Applications now open for Volunteer Capitol Hill
Calling all nonprofit organizations looking for volunteers! It’s never been easier to meet a pool of potential volunteers than at Volunteer Capitol Hill! This year, we’ll open our doors to hundreds of interested community members on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 10 am-1 pm. You’ll have the chance to talk to folks directly, learn about their interests, and match them to your programs accordingly. Volunteer Capitol Hill 2018 was a great success, with 35 organizations and over 300 community members participating.
So what exactly is Volunteer Capitol Hill?
Established in 2013, Volunteer Capitol Hill is an annual fair designed to showcase a wide variety of opportunities for volunteer service. It benefits Capitol Hill-based nonprofit organizations by helping them recruit volunteers and network with other organizations, and it benefits members of the community by helping them match their skills and interests to the needs of participating organizations.
Why did you start Volunteer Capitol Hill?
Volunteer Capitol Hill is the brainchild of the Old Naval Hospital Foundation to celebrate the extraordinary contributions made by Nicky and Steve Cymrot to the Capitol Hill community over more than forty years.
