Join Jared McCann in partnership with District Flow Yoga at the Hill Center for a series of yoga workshops from May 26 – May 28, 2023!
Grounded – Friday, May 26th from 6 pm -7:30 pm
This vinyasa class will focus on hip opening poses and standing poses. This class will help connect students to their feet, legs, and pelvis through proper alignment and good technique. Jared will also introduce Mula Bandha, the root lock, as it applies to the asana practice. Great for all levels!
Vinyasa with Backbends – Saturday, May 27th from 11 am -1 pm
This vinyasa class will focus on backbending postures. Students will learn how to organize and stabilize their pelvis and lower back in backbends. Jared will teach Ashwini Mudra and Uddiyana Bandha as it applies to backbending poses. Learn to backbend without pain in this class.
Satsang and Meditation – Saturday, May 27th from 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm
This class will include a lecture and discussion on yoga philosophy. And will also teach students how to approach meditation. The power of mindfulness is the key to peace and joy. During this practice we will discuss the main impediments to mindfulness, and learn how to cultivate a meditation practice. This class is great for new and old meditators alike!
Vinyasa with Inversions and Arm Balances – Sunday, May 28th from 11 am – 1 pm
This class will focus on proper alignment and technique for inversion and arm balancing postures. We will talk about the marma points in the hands and arms to find lightness in upside down postures. Jared will also share his strength building exercises for working toward handstand and forearm stand. This class is great for all levels!
About Jared McCann:
Jared McCann is an international yoga teacher and holds an advanced E-RYT 500 designation. He is the two time national and 2013 world asana champion. Jared has studied yoga extensively with Dharma Mittra, Anna Forrest, and Mary Jarvis. He has decades of practice in Ashtanga, Bikram, Dharma, Forrest, and Iyengar yoga combining all disciplines together in his vinyasa series. He continually studies new and old traditions and implements them to both his practice and teachings.
