Since 2012, Bill Press has proudly hosted Hill Center’s Talk of the Hill series, in which he sits down for one-on-one, thought-provoking conversations with newsmakers. Hill Center is honored by his contribution to our programming. Previous guests include: Sen. Bernie Sanders, Secretary of State Madeline Albright, Associate Justice Sonia Sotomayer, Associate Justice Stephen Breyer, Rep. John Lewis, Sen. Mary Landrieu, Rep. Barbara Lee, Mark Leibovich, Gov. Terry McAuliffe, Peter Baker, Sister Simone Campbell, Norman Ornstein, Sen. Chris Dodd, Charlie Cook, Amie Parnes and Jonathan Allen, Brian Lamb, Seymour Hersh, Gene Robinson, Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius, Robert Siegel, Alice Waters, Rep. Bill Press began his career as a political insider and media commentator on KABC-TV and KCOP-TV, both in Los Angeles. Over the years, he has received numerous awards for his work, including four Emmys and a Golden Mike Award. He also served as aide to California Governor Jerry Brown and was Chair of the California Democratic Party from 1993 to 1996.

The former co-host of MSNBC’s Buchanan and Press, CNN’s Crossfire and The Spin Room, Press has built a national reputation on thought-provoking and humorous insights from the left side of the political aisle.
​

Press is the author of ten books: “Eyewitness” (Redwood Press, 1988), “Spin This!” (Atria, 2001), “Bush Must Go!” (Dutton Books, 2004), “How The Republicans Stole Christmas” (Doubleday, 2005), “Trainwreck” (Wiley, 2008), “Toxic Talk” (Thomas Dunne Books, 2010), “The Obama Hate Machine” (Thomas Dunne Books, 2012), “Buyer’s Remorse” (Threshold, 2016), “From the Left” (Thomas Dunne Books, 2018), and “Trump Must Go” (Thomas Dunner Books, 2018).

Bill Press is host of the twice-weekly “The Bill Press Pod” – available on Google, Apple, Spotify or Tune-In. He’s a member of the White House press corps. He also writes a weekly column for The Hill and a weekly syndicated newspaper column distributed by Tribune Media Services.

Press resides in the nation’s capital with his wife Carol.
​
