The Capitol Hill Art League (CHAL) presents its annual Hill Center exhibition. The artwork represents…

Hill Center Is Better Than Ever
Hill Center has always been a place worth showing up for. Lately, we’ve been making sure the building lives up to everything that happens inside it.
Over the past year or so, we’ve made a series of quiet but meaningful investments — in comfort, technology, and space — that add up to something you’ll notice the moment you arrive.
Step Outside
The newest addition to Hill Center is the John Franzén Terrace — a beautifully designed outdoor gathering space with stylish seating, perfect for lingering after a concert, catching up between classes, or simply enjoying a Capitol Hill evening in good company.

Stay Comfortable
Abraham Lincoln Hall — our largest room and home to some of our most beloved concerts and lectures — now features new climate control, so your attention can stay where it belongs: on the music, the speaker, or whatever the main event might be.

See and Hear Everything
Hill Center’s audiovisual capabilities have been completely reimagined. A ceiling-mounted 10,000-lumen laser projector and floor-to-ceiling screen in Lincoln Hall mean film screenings look cinematic, lectures are crisp and clear, and every performance lands the way it was meant to. Each of our main halls — Abraham Lincoln, John Philip Sousa, and Benjamin Drummond — has been fully equipped with projection and sound, with an in-house specialist on hand at every event.
Good Company
Hill Center’s sunlit third-floor offices are home to a remarkable group of neighbors doing important work — Opera Lafayette, the National Children’s Alliance, Friends of the National WWII Memorial, and others who have made this building their professional home. It’s a reminder that Hill Center isn’t just a place to visit. For a growing community of people, it’s where the work happens too.
